THE 34-year-old singer, who is a supporter of our Young Scot Awards, is hoping her new charity umberella - Alesha’s Ark - will help as many animal charities as possible.

On February 27th 2009, Alesha Dixon set off to Tanzania in an attempt to climb Mount. Kilimanjaro to raise money for Comic Relief. Gary Barlow, Kimberly Walsh, Cheryl Cole, Fearne Cotton, Denise Van Outen, Ben Shephard, Chris Moyles, and Ronan Keating accompanied her on the trip. The 9 celebrities proved that the 19,341 ft giant was no match for them as they all reached the sumitt by 7th March 2009. The climb raised over £3.5 million with £1.8 million coming from BBC Radio 1 audiences. A documentary titled The Big Red Nose Climb was shown 12th March 2009 and was viewed by 8.74 million people.
